Blessed Sacrament School, Hollywood
Just think what it would we like to attend weekly Mass with no place to sit… be either incredibly hot or miserably chilled…
Blessed Sacrament School is located in Hollywood, just a short distance from Wolfgang Puck’s Grand Ballroom where the Cardinal’s Awards Dinner is held.
The parish and school are supported by the Archdiocese of Los Angeles and the Jesuit Community. School enrollment is very low but the possibilities of expansion are great. The hope is to reach into a greater cross-section of the population to bring students and their families to a school where their children will excel and thrive.
The proceeds from the 2009 Dinner were dedicated to the completed Preschool Classroom improvements and financial aid for prospective students. State licensing is in process.
Due to the overwhelming need the school is scheduled to receive a second year of the Cardinal’s Awards Dinner proceeds to make:
- Financial aid available to students whose families demonstrate a desire for their children to have the benefit of a Catholic education.
- Capital improvements which are crucial if the school is to be restored to its once thriving status.
- Significant improvements across the curriculum.
A strong Advisory Board, Loyola Marymount University, and Loyola High School are working collaboratively to share expertise. Shared knowledge will develop curriculum. Capital improvements will update learning resources and technology. The need is vast. So is the gratitude.
